§ 18-4. Election districts; descriptions; incorporation of map.

  • In accordance with state law and prior agreements resolving civil rights litigation related to voting, the city is hereby divided into seven single member districts to be designated as district 1, district 2, district 3, district 4, district 5, district 6 and district 7.

    The districts are the areas within the city that are enclosed by lines that follow existing corporate limits as of the date of the ordinance from which this chapter was derived, centerline of streets, roadways, alleys, railroads or extensions thereof; property lines; streams, creeks and rivers; or other lines as described in the metes and bounds description of district boundaries included as a part of the ordinance from which this chapter was derived as attachment 1 and as shown on the graphic depiction referred to as attachment 2.
